FlexPEDs 1st kick-off meeting

We are delighted to announce the launch of the FlexPED project, which will continue and expand on the DigiTwins4PEDs research (2023–2026). The project kick-off meeting took place recently and brought together our partners from Germany and Bulgaria, including Robert Bosch GmbH and GATE Institute, as well as representatives from Sofia City.

FlexPED will explore how a standard Urban Digital Twin platform, combined with an AI-based simulation model, can support effective data management, real-time energy flow monitoring, and energy consumption optimization in Positive Energy Districts (PEDs). The project also includes the implementation of flexibility strategies that will enable the practical use of PEDs on an urban scale.

The FlexPED project is being implemented between 2026 and 2028 as part of the Driving Urban Transitions Partnership and is co-financed by the European Union. It builds on the successes of DigiTwins4PEDs, which demonstrated how the Urban Digital Twin platform can support the co-creation of PEDs.

Follow our website to stay up to date with the progress of the project and upcoming events, including the public DUT Conference 2026, scheduled for June 10, 2026.
